Obverse description Three punch-impressed symbols arranged across the flat field of this irregularly shaped copper piece: a spoked wheel, two circles each flanked by dumbbell devices, and a boat motif. The punch marks are applied with characteristic Janapada-period technique, each symbol deeply struck into the plain copper surface without a formal border. The symbols are distributed across the flan without a standardized layout, typical of pre-Mauryan punchmarked coinage of the Vanga regional series.
