| Reverse description | The reverse presents a plain, undecorated silver surface typical of punch-marked karshapana coinage of this era, exhibiting the characteristic hammered texture resulting from the striking process. Faint striations and tool marks from the anvil and hammering are visible across the flat field, with no intentional design elements present. The absence of reverse decoration is standard for Nanda Empire punch-marked coins, which concentrated all symbolic content on the obverse. A small accretion of mineral deposit is visible at the lower left edge of the flan. The surface retains an attractive original patina consistent with ancient silver coinage from the Gangetic plain. |
