| Reverse description | Central field presents a patriarchal or double-barred cross, rendered in a bold, angular style consistent with Cilician Armenian ecclesiastical iconography. The cross is flanked by abbreviated Armenian lettering forming part of the royal legend naming Hetoum II as king. The flan is irregular and the strike uneven, as is characteristic of hammered copper issues of this period. Peripheral areas of the legend are partially obscured by weak striking and flan irregularities. |
