Reverse description Multi-line Arabic inscription filling the reverse field, presenting the honorific titles of the sultan. The legend reads 'al-sultan al-a`zam nasir al-dunya wa'l-din' (The Greatest Sultan, Defender of the World and of the Faith), arranged in horizontal lines across the flan in an angular Kufic-influenced script style typical of early Delhi Sultanate issues. The inscription occupies the full available field with no border, and the irregular flan results in partial legend on some specimens. The bold, deeply struck lettering is characteristic of hammered bronze coinage of the mid-thirteenth century Delhi Sultanate.
