| Reverse description | The reverse presents a dense arrangement of script characters in proto-Bengali or Siddham script occupying the upper field, with a prominent circular or spiral decorative device visible in the lower central area of the die. This spiralled or conch-like motif is a recurring emblem on Pala dynasty copper jitals and may represent an auspicious symbol or royal emblem. The overall die engraving is bold but somewhat crude, characteristic of provincial hammered coinage. Heavy blue-green cuprite and malachite patination covers the surface, attesting to the coin's considerable age and burial history. |
