| Obverse description | A bull standing to the left occupies the central field, rendered in the stylized manner characteristic of early Delhi Sultanate coinage inherited from earlier Hindu-Shahi types. A Nagari inscription appears above the bull, identifying the ruler as Jalal-ud-Din Raziya, the reigning sultana (r. 1236–1240). The design is struck on a roughly flan typical of hammered copper jitals of this period. The overall composition retains iconographic continuity with pre-Sultanate bull-and-horseman coinage while adapting it to the new Islamic ruling authority. |
