| Obverse description | A crowned lion passant occupies the central field, enclosed within a beaded inner circle. The design is executed in the bold, somewhat crude style characteristic of mid-15th century Danish hammered coinage. A Latin uncial legend encircles the device in the outer field, reading NOVA REGNI DACIE, proclaiming the coin as a new issue of the Kingdom of Denmark. The overall strike is irregular, as typical of the interregnum period coinage of 1448. |
