| Reverse description | A full-length frontal depiction of Archangel Michael in his role as Taxiarch (Archistratus), rendered in high relief in a style reminiscent of medieval iconographic bas-relief. The Archangel is shown in military attire with spread wings, a radiant halo, holding an upraised sword in his right hand and gesturing with his left, standing atop a vanquished figure. A Cyrillic inscription drawn from Taras Shevchenko's poem 'Haidamaky' runs along the left and right margins of the field, arching around the central motif. |

Ukraine's silver bullion hryvnia program sits outside the country's commemorative series — these are investment-grade issues intended to track spot silver, not collector premiums. The National Bank of Ukraine expanded the program significantly after 2014, when capital flight and currency instability made hard-asset alternatives increasingly attractive to domestic buyers. Most examples in circulation within Ukraine never left the country.
The .9999 fineness is notably purer than the standard .999 used by many sovereign mints, a specification choice that aligns Ukraine's bullion program with Canadian and Chinese benchmark issues rather than the American or British standard.
