| Obverse description | Quartered shield displaying the four-fold arms of Jülich-Berg with a central inescutcheon bearing the arms of Ravensberg, the whole surmounted by a small ring or pellet at the top of the field. The heraldic charges, including lions and geometric divisions, are rendered in a bold, somewhat crude hammered style characteristic of late medieval Rhenish coinage. The shield occupies the majority of the coin's face, with no surrounding legend. |
