Obverse description Central shield bearing the lozengy arms of the House of Wittelsbach (Bavaria), with alternating plain and hatched diagonal bands. The mint-master initials C and B flank the shield to the left and right respectively, with a small rosette or star ornament at each lower corner. The date 1765 is inscribed in the upper field above the shield, and the entire design is enclosed within a beaded border.
