Obverse description Quartered shield bearing the four-fold arms of the issuing authority: upper left, the cross of Münster; upper right, the wheel of Osnabrück; lower left, the crossed croziers of Paderborn; lower right, the nettle-leaf of Hoya. The letter 'I' appears prominently above the shield in the upper field, flanked by small pellets, with the initials 'D' and 'H' to the left and right of the shield respectively. The entire design is encircled by a toothed or beaded border.
