Obverse description Four heraldic shields arranged in a cruciform pattern, representing the arms of Mainz, Cologne, Bavaria, and Trier respectively. A small pellet or dot is positioned above the shield of Mainz, serving as a differencing mark. The shields are rendered in the typical late-medieval Germanic style characteristic of bracteate coinage. The composition fills the central field of the coin within a circular border typical of Hohlringheller types.
