| Obverse description | Central field displays the Electoral Wheel of Mainz (a six-spoked wheel within a circular border), the traditional heraldic arms of the Archbishopric, surmounted by an electoral prince's coronet. Flanking the crown are the initials E·I· (for Emmerich Joseph) in the field to left and right. Two crossed palm or laurel sprays decorate the lower field beneath the shield, framing the device in a decorative manner. The coin exhibits a fine milled or grained edge border. |
