Obverse description The city arms of Regensburg are depicted centrally: two crossed keys with ornate ward-ends in saltire, with the initial 'R' for Regensburg positioned above the crossing point. The four-digit date is split by the shafts of the keys, with '17' to the left and '95' to the right. Below the crossing, a stylized gabled structure flanked by two gridded panels occupies the lower field. At the very base, the denomination initial 'H' (for Heller) is flanked by a six-pointed star on each side. The entire design is enclosed within a milled border following the square format with angled corners.
