| Obverse description | Central field occupied by the quartered ducal arms of Saxony, displaying the traditional barry of ten or and sable with a crancelin in bend, set within an elaborate baroque cartouche of scrolling acanthus mantling. The shield is surmounted by a ducal crown with prominent arched bands, rendered in bold relief characteristic of small German copper coinage of the mid-eighteenth century. No peripheral legend is present, the entire design being devoted to the heraldic device. |
