Obverse description Central field displays the quartered arms of the Bishopric of Bamberg, featuring a lion rampant and diagonal rake or crozier elements characteristic of the see's heraldry. The shield is rendered in low relief on a plain copper field with no surrounding legend. The design is bold and occupies most of the coin's surface, executed in a simple, utilitarian style typical of minor German ecclesiastical coinage of the mid-18th century.
