Obverse description Bust of Holy Roman Emperor Maximilian I facing right, wearing a broad-brimmed hat and armour with an ornate collar of the Order of the Golden Fleece. The effigy is rendered in a bold, high-relief Renaissance style with strong facial features and detailed drapery. A circular Latin legend surrounds the portrait in the field, reading continuously around the rim.

Reverse description Central crowned imperial double-headed eagle bearing a shield on its breast, surrounded by a complex heraldic arrangement of territorial arms including Austria and Carinthia (Kärnten). Additional subsidiary shields in the lower field represent Styria, Habsburg, Upper Alsace, Carniola, Upper Austria, Burgundy, and Tyrol, reflecting the extensive dominions of Maximilian I. A circular Latin legend runs around the periphery, with the date 1518 incorporated into the reverse inscription.
