| Obverse description | Facing bust of Elector Frederick III of Saxony, depicted in three-quarter view wearing the characteristic folded cap (Klappmütze) and armored dress, with long flowing beard rendered in fine detail. The effigy is framed by the circular legend naming all three co-rulers. Small heraldic shields appear in the field to either side of the bust, representing the Saxon territories. The portrait is executed in the late Gothic style typical of early sixteenth-century German coinage. The circular outer legend reads: FRIDERICVS: IOHANNES: GEORGIVS: D: G: DVX: SAXONIE: S: R: I: ARCHIMARS: ET: ELECTOR: |
