| Obverse description | Printed in blue on uncoloured paper, the obverse carries a vignette of tall coconut palms against a coastal landscape at left, with fine guilloche work filling the right portion of the design around a large numeral '1' set within an ornate circular underprint. The issuing bank name 'DE JAVASCHE BANK' runs across the top in bold lettering, with bilingual bearer text in Malay and Dutch below, and two manuscript signatures appear beneath the central inscriptions above their respective titles SECRETARIS and PRESIDENT. The date 1948 is incorporated into the lower right corner within the guilloche panel. |
