Reverse description The reverse features a standing allegorical figure of the Dutch Maid (Nederland Maiden), rendered in classical drapery with a plumed helmet, facing slightly to the right. In her left hand she raises a lance or staff topped with the Hat of Liberty, while her right arm rests upon an ornate baroque pedestal supporting a Bible surmounted by a cross, symbolizing the Protestant faith of the Republic. The circumferential legend HANC TVEMVR HAC NITIMVR encircles the figure, with the date 1701 placed in the lower exergual area between the figure's feet and the pedestal base. A continuous border of milled beading frames the entire design.
