Obverse description The quartered princely coat of arms of Lippe displayed at centre, surmounted by a crested helm and a spread eagle, the whole ensigned with a princely crown and draped within an elaborate ermine-lined mantle. The multiple quarterings incorporate the characteristic rose of Lippe, stars, battlements, and other heraldic charges rendered in fine engraving. The date 1793 is divided by the crown, with '17' to the left and '93' to the right in the upper field.
