| Obverse description | An oval intaglio vignette at left carries a portrait of Queen Juliana of the Netherlands, with the territorial name NIEUW-GUINEA and denomination EEN GULDEN rendered in bold letterpress at centre, flanked by ornate guilloche rosettes. The serial number appears twice — above the portrait and at lower right. The green lower border bears the legends WETTIG BETAALMIDDEL and the date 2 JANUARI 1950. |
