Reverse description A finely detailed three-masted Dutch East Indiaman under full sail, depicted in profile navigating stylized waves occupying the lower portion of the field. The vessel displays multiple sails set and rigging rendered with considerable engraving detail, with small flags visible at the mastheads. The ship is enclosed within a rope-style inner circle, with the date 1802 appearing in the lower exergue below the vessel. The circumferential Latin legend reads 'INDIAE BATAVORUM' around the upper portion of the coin.
