Reverse description The quartered royal arms of Scotland, England, France, and Ireland are displayed in a cruciform arrangement, with a thistle at the centre of the cross dividing the quarters. Each quarter bears the appropriate heraldic device: the lion rampant of Scotland, the three passant guardant lions of England, the fleurs-de-lis of France, and the harp of Ireland. The Latin legend is divided into four segments between the arms, reading SCO AN · FRA ET · HIB REX · 17 16, with the date split across the lower quarters. A milled bead border frames the reverse field.
