| Obverse description | Youthful laureate bust of King George II facing left, the effigy rendered with finely detailed flowing hair bound by a laurel wreath with a ribbon tie visible at the nape of the neck. The portrait, engraved by John Croker, displays a strong, classical profile with truncated neck. The encircling legend reads GEORGIUS·II·DEI·GRATIA· in raised Roman capitals, evenly spaced around the periphery within a milled border. |

| Reverse description | A crowned and garnished shield of quartered royal arms occupies the centre of the reverse, displaying the arms of England, Scotland, France, and Ireland along with the Hanoverian escutcheon. The shield is elaborately mantled and surmounted by the royal crown. The divided date 17–29 appears above the shield on either side, and the full royal title legend encircles the design in Latin Roman capitals close to the milled border. |
