| Obverse description | Laureate and draped older bust of King George II facing left, rendered in high relief with finely detailed curling hair and laurel wreath, occupying the majority of the field. The truncation of the bust is visible at the lower edge of the coin. A circular Latin legend runs along the periphery, interrupted by pellet stops between words. The portrait, engraved by John Croker, displays the characteristically aged features associated with the king's later effigies, conveying a dignified and authoritative likeness. |
