| Obverse description | Laureate and draped bust of King George I facing right, his long curled wig rendered in fine relief with a laurel wreath set prominently in the hair. The effigy, engraved by John Croker, is bold and high-relief, occupying the majority of the obverse field. A circular Latin legend surrounds the portrait, interrupted at intervals by pellets serving as word dividers. The coin's milled border frames the design with a uniform toothed rim. |
