Obverse description Frontal enthroned effigy of King Adolf von Nassau, crowned and robed, holding a floral scepter in his right hand and an imperial orb in his left. The figure is rendered in a Gothic hieratic style characteristic of late 13th-century German coinage, with the throne indicated by architectural elements at either side. A Latin legend runs around the periphery within a beaded border.
