| Obverse description | Central field displays the papal coat of arms of Pius VI, comprising a vertically divided shield charged with diagonal bend and fleurs-de-lis in the lower section, surmounted by the papal tiara and crossed keys of Saint Peter. Two lions serve as supporters flanking the escutcheon, which is further adorned with six six-pointed stars arranged around the shield. The entire device is encircled by a milled or rope border. The circular Latin legend reads PIVS·SEXTVS PON·M·A·VII, distributed around the periphery of the coin. |
