Obverse description Papal arms of Innocent XII displayed on an ornate heraldic shield at center, surmounted by the papal tiara (triregnum) and crossed keys of Saint Peter. The shield bears the characteristic Pignatelli family arms featuring three cooking pots, rendered in high relief with elaborate baroque foliate mantling flanking the escutcheon. The circular Latin legend surrounding the design reads INNOC XII PONT MAX, identifying the issuing pontiff.
