| Obverse description | Full-length frontal figure of Pope Gregory XII in pontifical vestments, including tiara and cope, standing within a beaded inner circle. The pope raises his right hand in benediction and holds a long cross-staff in his left hand. The figure is rendered in the Gothic style typical of early 15th-century papal coinage.
