| Reverse description | The reverse displays a baroque cartouche with elaborate acanthus-scroll ornamental framing enclosing a three-line Latin inscription in the central field. Above the cartouche, a decorative shell or fan motif crowns the composition, while foliate scrollwork extends to the lower register. The inscription DATE ET DABITVR, a Scriptural quotation from Luke 6:38, is set in clear Roman capitals across three lines within the cartouche. The overall design is characteristic of late Roman Baroque die-work of the early eighteenth century. A toothed border surrounds the reverse field. |
