| Reverse description | A large five-petaled Tudor-style rose with prominent petals and a detailed central boss occupies the center of the coin, enclosed within a beaded inner circle. The date 1550 appears at the commencement of the surrounding Latin legend, which runs between the beaded circle and the outer rim. The reverse design is characteristic of Magdeburg municipal coinage of the mid-sixteenth century, with the rose serving as a civic and religious emblem. The overall strike is typical of emergency hammered coinage, with slight weakness at the periphery. |
