Obverse description Frontal effigy of Charlemagne enthroned, crowned and nimbed, holding an orb in his right hand and a sceptre in his left, rendered in the Gothic style typical of Aachen municipal coinage. Below the imperial figure, a spread eagle displayed forms the civic arms of Aachen, serving as a heraldic device in the lower field. The entire design is enclosed within a beaded inner circle, with the Latin legend in uncial characters running along the outer margin. The flan is irregular and slightly clipped, consistent with hammered production of the early fifteenth century.
Obverse script Latin (uncial)

Reverse description A bold cross of Tours (croix de gros tournois) with broad arms occupies the central field, enclosed within a beaded inner circle, closely following the tournois gros type widely imitated by German imperial cities in the late medieval period. A short secondary legend or mint inscription appears in the lower segment of the inner circle, below the cross. The outer field bears a two-part Latin circumscription in uncial lettering recording the date in Roman numerals and identifying the mint as the city of Aachen. The flan exhibits the characteristic irregularity of hand-struck coinage, with a slightly ragged edge.
