Reverse description Crowned orb or globus cruciger at centre within a beaded inner circle, flanked on either side by stylised floral or trefoil ornaments, the whole set within a double beaded border. A Gothic Latin legend runs around the periphery of the coin, identifying the denomination and issuing authority. The relief is shallow and characteristic of mid-fifteenth-century hammered silver coinage from the Mainz mint, with irregular flan edges typical of hand-struck production.
