| Reverse description | A rampant lion facing left occupies the central field, depicted in high relief with an open mouth and flowing mane, tail raised and curled over its back, in the heraldic tradition of the Nassau arms. The lion is set within a beaded inner circle, beyond which a Latin legend runs around the periphery, partially legible due to the struck condition of the flan. A small cross or rosette appears at the commencement of the legend. The style is consistent with late 14th to early 15th century Rhenish groschen coinage. |
