| Reverse description | Shield of arms bearing the rampant lion of Brunswick, set within a plain rectangular escutcheon at center. The abbreviated Latin legend BI.GOT.IS.RA.V.TA surrounds the shield, representing the territorial titles of Duke Frederick Ulrich of Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel. The initials of the mintmaster appear in the upper field flanking the shield. The hammered flan is irregular in outline, consistent with the production techniques of the period, and the relief is well-defined despite typical wear. |
