Obverse description Central field features the denomination numeral '24' (indicating 1/24 Thaler) enclosed within a beaded inner circle surmounted by a ducal crown, the whole set within a plain inner ring. A ornate cross patée appears above the crown at the top of the inner circle. The surrounding legend reads MAT.D.G.R.I.S.A. with the date split across the field, struck on a broadly scalloped flan typical of early seventeenth-century hammered coinage.
