Obverse description Central field displays the quartered arms of the Duchy of Liegnitz-Brieg within a beaded inner circle: the upper-left and lower-right quarters bear the Silesian eagle, while the upper-right and lower-left quarters display the Piast checkerboard pattern. The shield is surmounted by a ducal helm with crest. The surrounding peripheral legend in Gothic uncial characters reads: FRIDERICVS DEI G DVX SLESIE, identifying Duke Frederick II of Liegnitz-Brieg by name and title.
