| Obverse description | Crowned oval nine-fold coat of arms with a central shield bearing four-fold quartered arms representing the sees of Worms, Ellwangen, and Breslau, the entire achievement mounted upon a cross. The heraldic composition is rendered in high relief with fine engraving typical of early eighteenth-century German ecclesiastical coinage. A circular Latin legend surrounds the arms, identifying the issuer as Francis Louis, by the grace of God Archbishop and Elector of Mainz, Prince of the Holy Roman Empire, and Grand Chancellor for Germany. |
