Obverse description Central field displays the quartered arms of Brunswick-Lüneburg within a shield surmounted by a princely crown. The upper quarters bear the Brunswick lion rampant and the Lüneburg two-bar fess, while the lower quarters repeat the same heraldic devices. A circular beaded or pellet border frames the shield, with a Latin legend running along the outer rim. The overall engraving style is characteristic of early seventeenth-century German hammered coinage, with bold but somewhat irregular relief.
