Reverse description Central field depicts a full-length, facing figure of Saint Anne in high relief, rendered in the late Gothic manner. The haloed saint is shown standing en face, robed in flowing drapery, supporting the Christ Child on her left arm and the Virgin Mary as a young child on her right, forming the traditional Anna Selbdritt grouping venerated in northern Germany. The figure is contained within an inner beaded circle, while the surrounding circular legend ANNA MATER VIRGIS MARI — identifying Anne as the mother of the Virgin Mary — runs clockwise around the periphery, punctuated by stops.
