| Obverse description | The city arms of Hildesheim displayed within a beaded inner circle, depicting a shield with a stepped cross above a diagonally divided base, surmounted by a decorative floral rosette at the top of the inner circle. The arms are rendered in a bold, late medieval relief style characteristic of early seventeenth-century hammered coinage. A Latin circular legend surrounds the inner circle, reading MO.NO.REI.HILD:, identifying this as the new money of the city of Hildesheim. |
