| Obverse description | Within a central beaded circle, a crowned rampant lion passant-reguardant faces left, rendered in the Gothic style characteristic of Lusignan coinage. A second beaded ring encloses the inner legend, which identifies the issuer, while a third outer beaded ring frames the entire design at the rim. The lion is depicted with fine detailing in its mane and claws, occupying the full diameter of the inner field. The concentric ring structure gives the obverse a distinctive multi-layered appearance typical of Cypriot grossi of this period. |
