Obverse description Crowned and draped bust of Henry VIII facing right, in the so-called Laker bust D type, characterised by a larger, squarer facial profile with a prominent Roman nose and loosely arranged, fluffy hair. The arched crown does not intersect the inner circle. The royal effigy is rendered in the late-medieval hammered style with fine drapery detail at the shoulder. A beaded inner circle frames the bust, with the Latin legend disposed around the periphery.
