Obverse description Facing crowned bust of Henry VI within a quatrefoil formed by four arched panels, all contained within a beaded inner circle. The king is depicted with flowing hair falling to either side, wearing an ornate crown with fleurs-de-lis, rendered in the stylized, frontal manner characteristic of early fifteenth-century English hammered coinage. Annulets appear at the junctions of the neck, a diagnostic feature of this issue. The surrounding legend in uncial Gothic lettering gives the royal titles in abbreviated Latin.
