| Obverse description | Draped bust of a female allegorical figure facing right, her hair gathered and bound with a large decorative bow or ribbon, rendered in the refined medallic style characteristic of Louis-Oscar Roty. The surrounding legend reads REPUBLIQUE D'HAITI with a star at top, flanked by the Haitian year AN and two-digit numeral at right. Along the lower periphery, the fineness (900 MILL.), the Gregorian year, and the weight (25 GRAM.) are inscribed. The engravers' names ROTY Gr and LAFORESTERIE appear in small letters at the base of the bust. The entire design is framed by a continuous beaded border. |
