| Obverse description | Quartered shield of arms combining the arms of Mainz (argent, a wheel gules) and Dalberg (or, three trefoils sable arranged 2-1), surmounted by an electoral bonnet and flanked by ornamental scrollwork. The four-fold arms are arranged within a decorative frame characteristic of late Renaissance heraldic coinage. A beaded inner circle surrounds the shield, with the legend disposed around the periphery of the coin in Latin capital letters. |
