Reverse description Half-length facing figure of St. Wolfgang, patron saint of the counts of Öttingen, depicted in episcopal vestments with mitre and staff in the manner of contemporary German ecclesiastical iconography. A small heraldic shield bearing a dog's head device appears in the lower field beneath the saint's figure. The composition is contained within a beaded inner circle, with the saint's name and title rendered in a circumscribed Latin legend occupying the outer margin. The entire design is executed in the bold, somewhat archaic hammered style characteristic of early Reformation-era German coinage.
