Obverse description Central quadripartite heraldic shield bearing the four-fold arms of the Archbishopric of Cologne, superimposed upon a long cross extending to the coin's periphery, dividing the field into four sections. The arms display the characteristic chequered pattern of the County of Moers alongside the Cologne ecclesiastical arms. A circular legend in Gothic uncial lettering surrounds the shield, reading the archbishop's abbreviated title. The overall composition reflects the typical hammered goldgulden style of the mid-fifteenth century Rhineland.

Reverse description Three heraldic shields arranged in trefoil formation around a central pellet, each shield representing one of the three ecclesiastical electors of the Rhine. The Mainz arms appear at upper right, the Palatinate-Bavaria arms at lower centre, and the Trier-Sierck arms at left, consistent with the standard Rhenish goldgulden reverse type of the period. A circular legend in Gothic uncial lettering surrounds the arrangement, proclaiming the coin as new gold money of the Rhine. The composition follows the established Rhenish electoral convention for the Goldgulden coinage.
